Charis
Biog:Eoin McCann and John Conneelly form the heart of Charis, a powerful acoustic duo, both ex-members of band "Jinx". Charis are one of the bands featured on the first Origin Records album "To Boldly Go". The songs they recorded were "Lost at Sea" and "The Bottle". Charis have featured in many venues in Galway, including The Roisin Dubh, The Quays and O'Che's. In Dublin they have played to audiences in the Temple Bar Music Centre and The Tivoli Theatre. They also do a fortnightly residency in Dublin. |

| From a musical point of view Charis are an interesting combination, with Eoin playing tasty licks while John strums and sings. John's voice has a deep velvet tone, vaguely reminisent of Eddie Veder of Pearl Jam, while being completely distinct and original in it's own right. John honed his singing skills even before "Jinx" in Kinvara band "Aravnik" (yes that is Kinvara backwards), who had a regular slot in Monroes Tavern during their existance. Eoin has played with many bands and many musical styles, including Jazz, Trad and Rock, making listening to his playing a very unique experience. Eoin also occasionally plays with Sara Lynch. | ||
